Here at Carrie’s Decorating Corner I am always looking for fun, exciting new projects to sink my teeth into. I’m not really looking for fluffy jobs that just call for a new throw over the furniture and some fresh accessories — what I really want is a challenge!
Not that there’s anything wrong with little gloss-up jobs but it’s the big ones that make me feel alive.
In this blog I want to share the best projects I’ve worked on in the past, exciting ones I’m doing at the moment, and big ideas I’ve got for the future.
I’m also going to be covering some of my favourite and versatile ‘go-to’ tips when it comes to interior decorating, like:
- Feature walls. You just can’t go wrong with them.
- Mix’n’match furniture and materials.
- Rustic. All things rustic. It’s just fabulous and works in every setting.
- Upcycling. Like recycling, but so much more classy!
- Motifs and symbols. Your house needs to be a reflection of you and your passions.
And many more things! This is such a wonderful industry to be in — it attracts such interesting people, both its professionals and clients.
There are always fresh, vibrant ideas buzzing around and I want to share them all with you. Plus the trends are also so interesting to watch.
Elle Decor is one of my favourite sites to follow (especially the ‘Trends’ section) as it’s updated so frequently and covers every part the home, from the bedroom to the living room to the kitchen to the bathroom.
Getting a house to really work — in separate sections, as well as a whole — is an art. I hope we can inspire and help each other over the coming months and years as this blog grows.
